Hydrogen sulfide has been proved to exert protective effects on pore formation in the rat heart, it causes dose-dependent relaxation of pre-activated rat thoracic aorta smooth muscles in the norm and chronic cerebral dopamine deficiency, and it is involved in the nervous cardiovascular control. It was shown that endogenous hydrogen sulfide pools are reduced with aging in the heart mitochondria of old rats, which leads to an increase in the content of oxygen free radicals.
