Objective: To identify changes in rats’ behavioral responses to non-radiation stress under the conditions of previous exposure to the doses of 0.5 Gy and 1.0 Gy on the background of using of substances with antioxidant properties. Methods: behavioral, creation of stress exposure using foot-shock, statistical methods. It is shown that behavioral indices response with negative stimulus to separate and combined exposure to ionizing radiation and stress is characterized with signs of the central nervous system function inhibition. In the case of positive stimulus and spontaneous activity the response is characterized as activation. In both cases, the effect of combined exposure was not additive with effects of studied agents interaction always having opposite direction decreasing their combined effects. Diminishing of radiation and stress interaction contribution caused by antioxidants suggests free radicals processes involvement. Since the interaction decreases reaction to combined exposure as compared to the sum of each agents effects, antioxidants usage under these conditions could lead to the total response to combined exposure to these agents increase.
