Goal of the study: to determine level and dynamics of cancer incidence in liquidators of 1986-1987 years of participation (1994-2011), evacuees (1990-2011) and residents of the most highly contaminated territories (1980-2011) as indicators of probable radiation-associated absolute risks of oncological diseases. Methods: epidemiological, statistical, mathematical. Essence of the study. This stage is continuation of the long-term study of cancer incidence in all groups of the population affected due to the Chornobyl disaster. Total cancer incidence rate exceeds the national level only in liquidators (SIR=105,0 %, 95 % CI: 102,8-107,3). In the last years (2006-2011) the rates (101,1%, 95% CI: 97,8-104,5) did not differ from the national level. Significant excess of thyroid cancer was registered (5.1-fold in liquidators, 4.3-fold in evacuees and 1.3-fold in residents of contaminated territories). Also increased frequency of breast cancer in female liquidators was observed during 1994-2011 (SIR=163,2 %, 95 % CI: 144,8-181,5). There were analyzed presence and volume of dosimetric data for liquidators and evacuees in the State Registry. Total percentage of persons having dosimetric records in their registration documents is 30.8 % for liquidators and 3.2 % for evacuees. For liquidators living in the regions under study (Lugfansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv regions and Kyiv city) corresponding percentage is 29.6 %. Records about external doses of irradiation are documented in 24.6 % of liquidators and 2.9 % of evacuees with diagnosed malignant tumours. Extremely low percentage of liquidators living in Kyiv city (1 %) and Kyiv region (2.1 %) and evacuees suggest the impossibility to define dose-dependent risks of malignant tumours in liquidators living in mentioned territories and in evacuees. Because of probable increase of incidence rate of radiation associated forms of malignancies with long latency period, there is necessity of further epidemiological monitoring in above mentioned groups and to perform analytical epidemiological studies (cohort, case-control) those might give evaluation of cancer risks in long-term post-accident period. Implementation: 3 publications. CHORNOBYL ACCIDENT, MALIGNANT TUMOURS, LIQUIDATORS, EVACUEES, RESIDENTS OF TERRITORIES MOST HEAVILY CONTAMINATED WITH RADIONUCLIDES.
