Hydrogen and synthesis gas generation from solid biomass and domestic wastes. Conversion of biomass-derived gases (syn-gas) to second and third generation liquid biofuel using nanocatalysts popup.stage_title Head Dudnyk Oleksii, Registration Date 21-01-2014 Organization Coal Energy Technology Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Object of the research - conversion processes of organic waste into gas with high contents of CO and hydrogen (without and with the use of catalysts of volatile compounds conversion). Objectives - to study the processes of carbonization and steam gasification of solid organic waste into gas, which is suitable for further conversion into liquid motor fuel. Methods of research - standard methods for solid fuel research and new methods for assessment of carbonization and gasification of solid organic waste. The research of conversion of biological and household organic waste were conducted on experimental installations of Coal Energy Technology Institute of NAS of Ukraine and Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP). A stage mechanism of polyester (PES) and cotton mixture carbonization was determined on the base of the research of carbonization of waste cloth made of PES and cotton. Natural polymer (cellulose from cotton) was carbonized at the first stage and synthetic polymer (PES) at the second stage. The results of the cloth carbonization have shown that there was obtained a dry gas with increased CO content (above 20 vol. %). Fe-catalyst of L.V. Pysarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of NAS of Ukraine and Ni- catalyst of IIN were used for the conversion of volatile matter to increase the yield of hydrogen. The installation for combined air gasification of wood (pine and oak wood waste) and steam plasma gasification of air gasification products was developed and tested. The possibility to control the H2/CO molar ratio in the obtained fuel gas in order to use the gas for the production of liquid motor fuel is shown. The processes of steam plasma gasification of solid organic waste (waste of campus IIN and industrial waste from production of sugar from sugar cane) were researched. The dry synthesis gas with high hydrogen content (over 50 vol. %) was obtained. The technical approaches to the development of new technologies for conversion of organic waste into motor fuel were determined, the techniques for determining parameters of production of synthesis gas from organic materials, and conversion of synthesis gas in gaseous and liquid organic compounds were developed. In experimental studies in IIN (Dehradun), the first time in India, liquid motor fuel was obtained using a micro-channel reactor. Product Description popup.authors Дудник О. М.
