Scheme of spring barley breeding process for adaptability is improved through optimization of its parts and introduction of different approaches to the creation, evaluation and selection of breeding material. Of the global gene pool new sources of selection characters were identified. In all steps of selection process new breeding material exceeding the standard for productivity, resistance to abiotic and biotic factors has been created, evaluated and selected. Two spring barley varieties of malting purpose Talisman Myronivs’ky (Application No. 2012024 ) and forage one Virazh (Application No. 12012024 ) have been developed and submitted to the State Strain Testing.
