The objective of the work is a research of peculiarities of focusing high-current electron and negative ion beams in a plasma-dynamical system of the lens with a positive space charge. The work is a complex research with use of experimental samples of lenses created in IP NASU. Analytical calculation and numerical simulation of plasma-dynamical processes in the cloud as well as beam focusing were used. Experiments on focusing intense electron beams were carried out using standard diagnostics techniques on the experimental stand at High-current Electronics Institute SB RAS. It's shown that the plasma of spacecharge cloud stabilizes the electron source and with the focusing lens capability allows to compress 100 A wide aperture (the initial diameter of 6 cm) beam to a size of 1 cm and get a current density of more than 100 A/cm2; experimentally demonstrated the ability to erise accelerating potential of electron beam up to 2 times if the plasma lens space charge plasma presense; experimental beams of electrons and negative ions from a modernizated plasma source are obtained. It's shown the impact of positive space charge cloud, accumulated in an electrostatic trap, on the electron beam with a current up to 100 A, and the average energy, up to 20 keV.
