The goal of the research is theoretical and experimental studies of methods and means of reducing of power frequency magnetic field in buildings, structures and residential area. In the research the analysis of power frequency magnetic field sources, affecting the level of magnetic field in buildings and structures, has been carried out and the main sources of the magnetic field have been discovered. Experimental studies of 50 Hz magnetic field in residential buildings has been performed and hygienic assessment of its level have been carried out. Studies of methods and means of the 50 Hz magnetic field reducing have been carried out, practical recommendations for 50 Hz magnetic field reduction to the level of perspective sanitary standards in residential buildings have been worked out. These guidelines ensure to reduce exposure of magnetic field from transmission lines, household electrical devices, domestic electricity and grounding systems. Methods of modeling and normalization of dangerous for people phenomena of geomagnetic field attenuation by steel constructions of modern buildings have been investigated. On basis of these methods the recommendations on designing of "magnetically clean" residential and public buildings, that no adverse effects on the population and the working staff, have been prepared.
