Goal-oriented effort: to prove expediency of the population screening in Ukraine, early detection of asymptomatic cancers and to develop mechanisms for implementation of screening programs in practice. Based on evidence-based medicine world randomized trials, and also on the characteristics oncoepidemiology process in Ukraine, medical audit data formulated the basic requirements for population cancer screening in our state, established nosology of most prevalence tumors that must be subject for realization programs of population and routine screening. It was detected criteria for screening: A disease must have considerable prevalence, and also to have a large social value; In clinical practice must be a diagnostic test (technology or methods of diagnosis) that allows reliably detect disease in preclinical stage; Discovered the disease can be cured by existing methods in clinical practice; Screening should be lead to a decrease of cancer mortality in the inspected population; Capital-using industry: Cancer Control Departments, management of Medicare an oncologic patients.
