The physical nature of ULF oscillations of Earth's magnetosphere, including sources, generation mechanisms and spatial-temporal structure of disturbances in the magnetospheric plasma is investigated. Terms of resonant perturbations ULF range with different polarization were formulated and verified according to observations from spacecrafts. A new type of MHD resonances in three-dimensional inhomogeneous plasma with magnetic surfaces is investigated. The results are applied to the magnetospheric plasma. It is shown that under certain conditions can be realized specific Alfven resonances due to the compressibility of the medium. The generation of own transverse small-scale MHD - modes in the magnetospheric plasma is investigated. System of equations describing such perturbations is obtained and analyzed, in particular, their polarization in the framework of the dipole magnetic field. Found that in the cold plasma approximation perturbations occur with only two types of polarization - poloidal and toroidal Alfven modes.
