It is shown that for such systems the total optical switching can be obtained near the frequency of the trapped mode excitation, which has the high quality factor and the asymmetric Fano form. The nonlinear interaction of two Fano resonances of the trapped modes excitation is investigated in the frequency and time domains for the two-layer structure which contains a substrate of Kerr-type nonlinear dielectric. These two resonances interact differently on the incident intensive light, which leads to the realization of the effect of multistability.
