It was the first investigation of adipocytokine status that demonstrated the role of adipose tissue dysfunction in the mechanism of PCOS development. Also the role of vitamin D deficiency in the genesis of PCOS was proved. Based on the research of carbohydrate metabolism in various clinical and pathogenetic variants of PCOS it was first established that this pathology leads to the formation of insulin resistance not only on the background of obesity, but also in its absence and is a significant factor in the development of metabolic syndrome. This study showed that PCOS is a multifactorial disease that progresses with age. Its key mechanisms are hyperandrogenism, dysfunction of adipose tissue, which causes a variety of clinical and pathogenetic variants of its course. Based on the results of research 22 papers were published, 14 presentations were made and 4 patents for utility model were received.
