The spectrum and frequency of lesions found by ultrasound, and their dynamics during pregnancy were analyzed. Methods of fetal lungs and thorax measurement by two- and three-dimensional ultrasound were standardized, method of evaluation of fetal lung volume was modified and elaborated, standard rates of lung size for each gestational age were calculated. Known lung ratios were analyzed and own methodologies for assessing of lung size to gestational age compliance were developed. Criteria and classification of pulmonary hypoplasia in the fetus were established. The technique of fetal pulmonary artery doppler was modified, gestation indices of blood flow were calculated, changes in fetuses with CDH were determined. The levels of thyroid hormones and TSH in peripheral maternal blood and cord blood of the fetus in this pathology were analised. Risk factors for neonatal mortality and survival in CDH were defined and assessed. Scheme of management of patients with the lungs, thorax and diaphragm pathology was developed to optimize the provision of specialized care in the postnatal period.
