The study examined the processes and approaches for evaluating the performance of public sector enterprises on the basis of performance. Relevance of the research due to the need to provide suggestions for improving the financial condition of the state sector of the economy and reduce the number of loss-making enterprises. The results of research will be used by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in the performance requirements of the Commercial Code of Ukraine, the Regulation on the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economy of the order of 21.06.2005 № 173, particularly in the preparation of information and analytical materials on the performance indicators of financial plans of public sector enterprises that contribute to the strengthening of state control over financial and economic activity of enterprises and the public sector more efficient use of state property.
