The aim of research is to make a coherent scientific analysis of the problem of pedagogical training of families of different types to professional self-determination of senior pupils; to develop, theoretically justify and experimentally verify the content and pedagogical conditions of implementation of this training. Methods: theoretical (the analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical literature; teaching experience, comparison, classification, summarization of data), empirical (purposeful pedagogical observation, interviews, questionnaires, expert evaluation, analysis of pedagogical situations, pedagogical experiment), methods of mathematical statistics. The practical outcomes are development and implementation of methods of diagnostics of the levels of preparedness of senior pupils' parents to professional self-determination; contextual and methodological support of school work from pedagogical training of families to professional self-determination of children of senior school age. Scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time: the content and pedagogical conditions for training of families of different types to professional self-determination of senior pupils are developed (making personal experience of parents on constructive models of family upbringing more profound, the implementation of parent-child relationships as a factor of professional self-determination of senior school age children, take into consideration the gender features of senior school age children in terms of their professional self-determination; territorial factor (city, rural area) is noted; complied a systematic approach in the organization and implementation of pedagogical training of families of different types to professional self-determination of senior pupils, the contextual and methodological support is developed and implemented in the process of pedagogical training of families of different types to professional self-determination of senior pupils; the components, criteria, indicators and levels of preparedness of parents to professional self-determination of senior pupils are defined; the state of school work from pedagogical training of families of different types to professional self-determination of senior pupils is discovered; clarified: the stages of formation of system of training of senior pupils to professional self-determination (the second half of XX c. - the beginning of XIX c.), the essence of such concepts as "professional self-determination," "pedagogical training of family", "family preparedness to professional self-determination of senior pupils", "families of different types".
