It is shown that there is a need to specify the subject and problem field of social psychology and perspectives of its development. These is an assumption that a productive epistemological method that might facilitate solving of this problem can be an appeal to the notion of social psychological thinking, which allows to consider the subject of scientific reflection as all the diversity of methods, which were developed by humankind during its history, of learning and mastering of social psychological phenomena. Conceptualization was made for the notions of "social psychological thinking" and "a form of social psychological thinking". According to the brief, conceptual background was developed for the research lines, which focus on studying the gnostic and pragmatic and transforming potential of some form as well as mechanisms of social psychological thinking (subject-deed and gender approaches, ideological and art forms, mechanism of stereotypization etc.). Scientific procedural requirements for creating the modern educational materials on the subject of social psychological disciplines are substantiated. Data on scientific centers and scholars that research social psychological topics in Ukraine was collected and systematized.
