During the report period the analysis and generalization of global tendencies of the development of physical and chemical studies of precious stones in the main gemmological laboratories was conducted, relevant information regarding the global market of natural and synthetic stones of the first grade was systematized, the current state of the market of precious stones in Ukraine was described, economic and geological information regarding genetic classification and location of the main deposits of precious stones of the first grade was generalized. The complex physical and chemical studies of natural, synthetic and treated rubies, dark blue sapphires, emeralds and alexandrites were conducted, criteria of their instrumental diagnosis were determined. The results of the study are added to the reference databases of precious stones of SGCU. The results of the work will be applied in scientific and gemmological examination.
