The aim of the work is to carry out the experimental research of changes in qualitative characteristics of gemstones under the influence of physic-chemical treatment methods and defining the parameters of these changes depending on the different types of treatment methods (irradiation, influence of high pressure and heating, annealing). Research techniques include infrared-Fourier (FTIR) spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy, ultraviolet radiation (DiamondView™). The results of the research are presented in the form of the report which includes current knowledge of the treatment methods effect on the qualitative characteristics of gemstones.
