The aim of the project is to develop theoretical foundations of plasma chemical synthesis of the syngas from low-grade coal and its use as a fuel in the combustion chambers of gas turbines. The principle of activation of solid fuel by plasma jet generated by high-frequency induction plasma torch is proposed to create modern stationary gas turbine units with a minimum emissions of toxic components. Methods: Three-dimensional mathematical model of physical and chemical interaction of turbulent two-phase reacting flows in plasma-chemical gasifier combined with a mathematical model of high-frequency induction plasma generator operating at atmospheric pressure are able to predict the energy and emission characteristics of plasma thermochemical devices. With the help of these methods the optimization of geometrical and operational parameters of plasma chemical elements gasification of solid fuels was performed. The theoretical basis of research made from fundamental and applied work of local and foreign experts in the field of combustion of fossil fuels and plasma processes. For theoretical analysis of the processes of formation and combustion of syngas from plasma activated charcoal an approach based on the numerical solution of systems of differential equations were used. Results: A three-dimensional mathematical model of physical and chemical interaction of turbulent two-phase reacting flows in plasma-chemical gasifier combined with a mathematical model of high-frequency induction plasma generator operating at atmospheric pressure were developed. They are able to predict the energy and emission characteristics of plasma thermochemical devices. There were developed methods for calculating thermal balance of the plasma chemical gasifier, which includes the effect of pressure in the reactor, the amount of steam, power of plasma generator on the efficiency of gasification processes . The research on the modification of the combustion chamber of the national turbine engine capacity of 2.5 MW was done. The results of the research show the possibility of reduction NOx emissions up to 18 ppm while maintaining emissions CO, which meets international environmental standards. The novelty: First time theoretical foundations of plasma chemical synthesis of the syngas from low-grade coal and its use as a fuel in the combustion chambers of gas turbines were developed. The basis is the principle of activating carbon plasma jet generated by high-frequency induction plasma torch. Effectiveness of implementation: The project results will be used in the development of advanced plasma chemical technologies for low-grade coal in energy sector in Ukraine, including such firms as OAO "Nicolaevskaya TETS" and State Enterprise "Scientific-Production Complex of Gas Turbine building "Zorya"-"Mashproekt".
