Research aim is to develop methods and corresponding methodology for determining the marginal seakeeping and strength of WIG. These methods are focused on the development of effective and reliable WIGs (as a result of performance of design works) which provide development of vessels of this type and their usage in the transport operations and operations on the protection of the country marine borders. Research methods: theory of ship and ship strength, probability theory, mathematical statistics, risk theory, theory of reliability and safety. Theoretical and practical results: The following methodologies have been developed: for determination of the WIG seakeeping, for investigation tests and prediction of damageability of light composite materials of WIG hull constructions when in their operation, for determination of the reduction coefficient of the physically orthotropic plates of WIG made from the polymer composite materials. Also the program and methodology for determination of the physical and mechanical characteristics of composite materials for creation the WIG hull constructions has been developed. Novelty and efficiency of implementation: For the first time the research of WIG seakeeping has been carried out on the basis of nonlinear stochastic differential equations when it moves over the wavy sea surface and lands on it. For the first time the solution for one of the main loss reasons of WIG motion stability over the wavy sea surface is obtained. It allows to use the obtained solutions in its motion control systems followed by the increase of its operational reliability. Field of Implementation: education (education process of the universities which train specialists in Naval Architect), shipbuilding (design organizations and construction bureaus of Ukraine, Shipping Register of Ukraine), water transport (shipping companies).
