Galkin Physics and Engineering Institute of National Academy of Science of the Ukraine popup.description2 Tested the possibility of obtaining of magnetocaloric alloys MnxFe2-а-xP1-y(As,Ge,Si)y (а - small deviation from the stoichiometric) by the method of high-speed hardening at the rotary copper wheel with the subsequent short annealing. Availability of this technology for large-scale practical application is shown at the example of the test alloy Mn1.25Fe0.7P0.5Si0.5. Magnetic and x-ray studies of alloys of the system Mn1-хCrхNiGe (0<x<0.25) are conducted. It is shown that the alloying of MnNiGe by chromium leading to the emergence and stabilization of the ferromagnetic (FM) status with the Curie point at the area of room temperature. Using ab initio electronic structure calculations of MnNiGe and related compounds investigated the conditions of the specified FM phase in MnNiGe and estimated values of paired exchange integrals between magnetoactive atoms. Theoretical investigations of the magnetocaloric effect are conducted in alloys based at MnNiGe.
