The dependences of the phase composition and structure of the surface layer hardness and depth of the modified layer of VT22 titanium alloy on concentration, temperature and temporal parameters of nitriding, combined with heat treatment was shown. It is shown that the variation of these parameters can influence on the properties of a gradient in the surface layer of consolidated, and thus, the performance properties of the alloy with such layers. The scheme and modes of nitriding VT22 alloy was recommended.
