The method is based on the saturation of gamma- Al2O3 by Zr , Y and Mg nitric acid aqua solutions with the further heat treatment for the next dispersed strengthened materials manufacture. After additional annealing of alumina Г -00 saturated by Zr , Y and Mg nitric acid aqua solutions at temperature 1200 and 1300 °С during 1hour the mixture of powders of alumina with an uniform distributed particles of zirconium oxides of tetragonal and monoclinic modifications was formed. There was determined that the increasing of zirconium oxide additions leads to the tetragonal phase content decreasing. The tetragonal phase content decreasing is more significant in the case of the Al2O3 + ZrO2 (MgO) powders in comparison with powders of zirconium oxide stabilized by yttrium oxide. The milling process was made in the planetary mixer and shown that alumina with additions of 10-20 % zirconium oxide was powdered with high dispersion degree (~ 80 % < 2 ?m) during 4 hours of milling. The samples with the composition alpha- Al2O3 - 15 % ZrО2 (Y2O3) obtained after sintering process at 1700 °С temperature during 1 hour possess high density parameters (99,1 %) and maximal content of the tetragonal zirconium oxide phase (85 %), in comparison with other composition samples. The pilot series of ceramic samples made from this material in the form of shielding containers for further testing as container for radioactive sources storage were manufactured and transferred to Kharkiv state interregional special combine "Radon".
