Purpose: preparation of the second edition of «Regulations of works on scientific-technical documentation in the state archives of Ukraine». Methods of the research: historical and systematic approach, structural-functional method, information method, classification. Theoretical and practical results: was summarized the scientific-methodical and practical framework for conducting formation of holdings, facilities, groups, items for storage of STD; was created the scientific reference system; was generated the order to secure the preservation, stocktaking, acquisition, use of STD in state archives on the basis of experience, gained by scientific-technical (technical) archival institutions, organizations, enterprises and state archives; was regulated the issue on selection and transfer to permanent storage of STD related to the NAH; were produced fundamentals for organizational guidance and control of the activity of archival entities of legal persons, whose operations generate STD; were interpreted traditional criteria for the value concerning STD and identified specific – considering the specificity of STD. Novelty: the Regulations set requirements for the organization, compiling, stocktaking, secure preservation and use of scientific-technical documentation as a part of the National Archival Holdings, in accordance with modern domestic legislation, methods and selection of STD to the National Archival Holdings of Ukraine. Scope of implementation: the Regulations are appointed for archival institutions preserving STD of the National Archival Holdings of Ukraine. Efficiency of implementation: implementation of the Regulations will help to normalize the work on organization, compiling, secure preservation, stocktaking and use STD.
