A research objective is the establishment of the content of oxide admixtures, finding-out of their influence on spectral characteristics of materials, and also a finding of ways of entire removal of impurities. Methods of IR-spectroscopy, spectroscopy of diffuse reflectance and of the chemical and x-ray phase analysis establish presence of impurity in form oxides (oxychlorides) in magnesium and lead fluorides at level of several percent in the samples received in the various ways. The effective fluorinating additive on the basis of complex fluoride of ammonium and antimony (ІІІ) is developed, allowing to carry out almost entire elimination of oxide admixtures to both fluoride materials and considerably to improve their technological and functional properties.
