The study was performed in 134 volunteers aged 40-75 years, the inhabitants of the plains (Kyiv) and middle altitude (Terskol, Elbrus region), including 55 patients with metabolic syndrome and diabetes, as well as in rats with modeling of metabolic disorders . It was established that acclimatization to hypoxia improves carbohydrate metabolism, optimizes lipoprotein metabolism and metabolic response of remodeled heart and lungs on hypoxic preconditioning. The role of protein regulators of IGF-1, HSP60 and leptin, lipoprotein receptor and cofactor ApoER2 and paraoxonase-1, transcription factors HIF-1, HIF-3, p53 in protective metabolic effects was found. Application of hypoxia in metabolic syndrome and aging reduced dyslipidemia and normalized glycemic profile. Three regimen of hypoxic influence, which demonstrated high clinical efficiency, were developed. The approaches for gene and combined therapy of metabolic syndrome were substantiated.
