Development of new immunocytochemical test-systems for leukaemia and myelodysplastic (preleukaemias) syndromes diagnosis popup.stage_title Head Gluzman Danylo Fishelevych, Доктор медичних наук Registration Date 29-12-2014 Organization R.E. Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 The analyzed phenotypic features of leukemic stem cells (cytomorphological, cytochemical, immunocytochemical) provided the basis for supplementing the basic diagnostic criteria for the precise diagnosis of preleukemic states (myelodysplastic syndromes) and leukemias of various histogenesis approved in about 3500 patients in Ukraine. Furthermore, based on the features under study, the conventional scheme of hematopoiesis might be refined and supplemented and several categories of the hematopoietic progenitor cells might be characterized in more details. The following principal assumptions for supplementing the conventional scheme of hematopoiesis are formulated: 1) all hematopoietic lineages are originated from the common multipotent progenitor cell; 2) common progenitor cell of lymphopoiesis does not seem to exist while oligopotent B cell/monocyte progenitor cell gives rise to bipotent progenitors of B-cell/monocyte and NK cell/monocyte; 3) common progenitor of erythrocyte and megakaryocyte is assumed; 4) dendritic cells of different origin, namely lymphoid and myeloid, should be delineated.
