In this context, minerals that have crucial influence although they have neither plastic nor energy properties are of especial value. The purpose of these studies is to improve mineral nutrition of pigs using methods of the balance experiments and spectrometric methods for determining the content of elements in feeds, feed residues, feces, urine, and to develop the most effective structure of the balancing mineral additives for pigs. Balance, scientific and economic trials using barley and maize diets for 50-60 kg pigs are carried out, and composition of the balancing mineral additive that should contain 82.15 mg of iron, 159.00 mg of zinc, 283.55 mg of manganese and 47.70 mg of copper is developed. The structure of the mineral feed additive for pigs having live weight from 30 to 60 kg when fed barley and maize diets is developed. It includes biogenic elements in the form of chelates in the following ratio: iron chelate - 16.8-21.1 %, zinc chelate - 16.5-18.8 %, manganese chelate - 48.8-54.7 %, copper chelate - 5.3-16.6 %. This addition ensures additional economic benefit per head 22.11 UAH and per 1center of weight gain 867 UAH. Efficiency of its application for pig feeding is 118.3 %.
