Objective: to investigate the number of new molecular mechanisms of regulation of the adrenal cortex, which may have considerable physiological significance, and to ground the pathogenesis of a number of disturbances of adrenocortical function in humans. Research Methods and equipment: extraction of nucleic acids, DNA electrophoresis in agarose gels, Western blot analysis, polymerase chain reaction, determination of enzyme activity; ionomer laboratory "PH-150" MI, spectrophotometer "Jen Way", thermocycler counter radioactivity "Beckman-Coulter", dosing pipette. Results: the investigation of the main parts of messenger systems (protein kinase, NO synthase) to ensure the transfer of intracellular signal regulators and modulators (potassium, lithium, estrogens, metanandamide) adrenocortical action was stadied. Theoretical and practical novelty: the findings represent a new and important information for taking into account in further studies to establish the pathogenetic mechanisms of adrenal pathology formation. Novelty and advantages over similar products: the expression of constitutive and inducible isoforms of NO-synthase in extratumor tissue and tumors of the human adrenal glands was firstly investigated and the effect of estradiol and alkali metal ions on the activity of NOS was determined. Effectiveness of implementation: the possibility of regulation of adrenocortical function by potassium ions, lithium and metanande was proved. Area of application: endocrinology.
