Aim of the investigation: to investigate influence of the microelement supply on the thyroid glandule status. Methods: clinical, biochemical, statistical. Results: it was revealed that biggest part of the people who were screened in different groups (children, pregnant women, elderly people and people of different ages with previously known thyroid disorders) has iodine insufficiency, and in some groups were found selenium and zinc deficiencies. Also were revealed correlations for the iodine insufficiency and higher level of thyroid disorders, urine levels of the selenium and iodine, urine and blood levels of zinc, selenium level and ATPO. Conclusion about absence of iron, cuprum deficiency and magnesium and calcium overload in Kyiv, Chernihivska and Zakarpatsks regions and thereby it do not influence on thyroid disorders development was made. Interrelation between iodine status and thyroid glandule sizes and its function was examinated. The results allowed to update data of iodine and microelement (selenium, magnesium, iron, zinc) supply of the Ukrainian people and to develop practical recommendations for the goiter treatment concerning revealed aspects.
