A purpose of work is synthesis of new crownophanes containing the fragments of fluorenone and hydroquinone or 4,4'-hydroxybiphenyl, joined by the residues of three- and tetraethylene glycol, the study of their structure, properties and interaction with paraquat. Research methods - synthetic, IR, UV, NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, X-ray. By the reaction of ditosylates at the base of 2,7-dihydroxyfluorenone containing the resudues of three- and tetraethylene glycol in the side chains with 4,4'-hydroxybiphenyl fuorenonocrownophanes with biphenyl fragment were obtained. Crownophanes containing fragments of hydroquinone were obtained by the reaction of tosylates at the base of hydroquinone with the resudues of three- and tetraethylene glycol in para positions with 2,7-dihydroxyfluorenone. In both cases we succeeded in isolation of small amounts the products of [2+2]-condensation. It's shown that in the crystalline state in all cases the fluorenone fragment is planar, aromatic moieties are located T-shape, intermolecular ?-? stacking interactions are absent. It was established that for compounds containing the same aromatic moieties, the most stable complexes with paraquat are formed by the crownophanes including fragments of tetraethylene glycol.
