To study biological, molecular and genetic peculiarities of causal viruses of human diarrhea separated from patients with acute enteric infection (AEI) from different regions of Ukraine; to optimize methods of etiological diagnostics and prophylactics of caused infections. There was studied for the first time circulation of different genotypes of group A rotaviruses in Ukraine; there were developed algorithms and methodological recommendations of etiological diagnostics of viral AEI. There was developed method and algorithm of selection and adaptation of circulating strains of group A human rotavirus for in vitro cultivation. There was developed mathematic model of prognostication of genotype specific effectiveness of live vaccine using the example of rotavirus infection. There was determined for the first time etiological role of noroviruses in the development of AEI in children of different age groups in Ukraine.
