It was found that stable parabolic pulses can be formed in optical fibers with normal dispersion and self-phase modulation, when parabolic pulse shape and parabolic spectral shape remain during pulse propagation in the fiber. Pulses having such profile can be used for transmission of high power laser pulses in optical fibers, because of preserving their profile in nonlinear medium. It was designed and manufactured novel microstructured optical fiber with normal dispersion in the wide spectral range from visible till near infrared having dispersion peak at 800 nm. It was shown that this fiber can be used for producing of parabolic pulses with minimal pulse duration in the femtosecond scale and supercontinuum generation at the wavelength 800 nm, where titanium-sapphire lasers generate.
