Its operate in the near infrared region and contain three basic elements: emitter, photodetector and sensitive investigational volume of air. Based on the developed techniques experimental studies of the basic characteristics of calibrated sensor with using artificial test fog generator have shown wide dynamic measurement range (from 15 m to >100 km) sensor and expected increased reliability of measurement results at values visibility above 100 km. Developed sensors can be recommended for use as a basic unit to create a modern automated meteorological visibility meter for road services, road, air and water transport to organize their work safely.
