The purpose of the research - study of distribution, hosts range, peculiarities of Plum pox virus (PPV) external signs manifestation in orchards of different species of stone fruit crops in various agro-climatic zones of Crimea. Research methods - a route inspection, testing by indicator plants, ELISA, immunoassay analysis, PCR analysis. Visual inspection of stone fruit crops has been conducted a in 5 regions of Crimea during the formation of a pink colour flower bud, flower blooming, and the beginning of leaf development to identify cultivars and forms, infected by Plum pox virus. Methods of visual estimation of flower petals, which allowed to select samples for analysis with clear symptoms of Plum pox virus in the form of stripes and spots, as well as deformation and twisting petals, have been improved. During ripening time route survey of collection and industrial orchards of stone fruit in 7 agroproduction regions of Crimea has been conducted. Fruits, affected by Plum pox virus, had different symptom: convexity ripped, fruit deformities, nodules and growths rings and pockmarks. On leaves disease has been manifested in the form of arcs, horseshoes, chlorotic and necrotic spots, taut, rugosity, sickle and other. Monitoring made it possible to identify a number of lesions of PPV in the steppe agroclimatic zone of Crimea. Diagnosing of phytopathogen by ELISA and PCR has been confirmed the presence of Plum pox virus in the collection of industrial orchards of stone fruits and first time in Crimea has been revealed the presence of D and Rec strains in selected samples of peach, cherry plum and plum.
