Purposes - to study the effect of different ways of forming gas jets to create favorable conditions for the processes of laser welding and cutting equipment; the technical development of a combined laser head for welding and cutting. Research methods - analysis of the scientific literature on these issues, computational methods for modeling gas flow, metallographic methods. Currently already developed laser heads, which implemented the ability to provide processes, such as laser or arc welding. However, so far there is no combined laser heads, which can be used for alternate transactions of cutting and welding. The idea of research is to use the ejection effect to develop an area of low pressure around the weld pool, which will affect the rate of expansion of the metal vapor and protect the surface of the molten metal from the interaction with the environment gases. The research results can be used to improve technology of strips manufacturing. In this process production proceeds through the (mechanical) cutting operation and (arc) welding of sheet of a certain width to obtain a continuous strip of sheet metal, which is then used as a template in the manufacture of pipes.
