The aim of the Research work has included creation of conditions for transition from traditional archival technology to Information technology; formation of automated archival information, expansion of access to archival information, its rational and operative usage and introduction into international information area; implementation of the applied Information technology into the current archival acrtivities of the Manuscript Division (acquisition, accounting and preservation of holdings, etc); development of electronic informative service. Methodological basis of the Research work was presented by modern methodological developments of the applied Information technology in archival and library area, which assisted to coordinate the whole process of creation, preservation and usage of the documents. Formation of the Manuscript Division Guide-Book has been completed; scientific and bibliographic description of the XVIth c. codices for the World Digital Library has been prepared; localization (Ukrainization) of dLibra Digital Library software has been carried out. Scientific publications revealing composition and content of the archival holdings has been prepared (they will be presented on the Library web site); L'viv in documents exhibition and the documentary presentation about European diplomacy's history have been organized (now they are prepared for web multimedia presentations). Implementation of the applied Information technology into the basic processes of the archival work has taken place: scientific and bibliographic processing, compiling of the List of the unique documents; acquisition and accounting of the archival fonds; digitization of the manuscript documents, their accounting and creation of electronic registers of the digitized documents; creation of Time Norms and Processing Norms of the Manuscript Division methodical recommendations (they have included implementation of new technologies). Realization of the tasks has made possible to optimize processing of archival information, and hence to form oura own documentary and informative infrastructure with its further introduction into common national and international informative area.
