The object of the research: originating breeding materials, the components of hybrids and the hybrids of the fodder beet on the CMS basis. The subject of the research: the schemes of the creating of the originating breeding material of the fodder beet with high content of dry substance, the trends of the creation of the sample collection of the breeding lines of the fodder beet, the creation of the hybrids' components, the hybrid combinations and the hybrids of fodder beets on the CMS basis. The methods of the research: the methods of analytical breeding - individual, individually-group and massive selection, inbreeding, hybridization, the methods of the recurrent selection. The crossbreeding of the varieties and the newly created inbreeding lines of the fodder beet were held to produce new genotypes. The plants of the first year of vegetation were investigated to study the productivity, the content of dry substance and the resistance to diseases. In the result of the research work 41 self-pollinated biotypes; 104 hybrid combinations with an O-type; 120 hybrid combinations with different genetic basis of breeding materials; five hybrid combinations on the CMS basis; 32 breeding varieties with high genetic potential for economically valuable traits were received. The variety Slavia is added to the Register of the plant varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine.
