The existence of some characteristic value of the hydrogen concentration at which the mechanism of hydrogen influence changes, namely: below this value the enhanced plasticity (decreasing of the yield stress value) takes places and above - the hydrogen embrittlement occurs. This value can be considered as an important engineering parameter for strength and fracture assessment of materials and structural components in hydrogenous environments and also at the development of technology of hydrogen treatment of materials with the aim of an improvement their service properties. The specificity of the hydrogenation of welds components of pipeline steel X52 was studied. It has been shown that the ability to absorb hydrogen decreases in the following sequence: heat affected zone - base metal - weld. The conducted study reflects the hydrogenating conditions, which simulate of real operating pipelines and therefore the received values of hydrogen concentrations may be used as reference data for assessment of hydrogenating of weld components during long-term operation of the considered pipelines. Based on modeling of the interference of stress-strain state of system "metal-hydrogen", the basic equations have been proposed, which allow to determine the hydrogen distribution in material and also to assess the additional stress in material that induced by hydrogen.
