Information × Registration Number 0214U007084, 0111U002181 , R & D reports Title Evolution and chorology of diversity of flora and fauna model groups of Ukraine popup.stage_title Head Kaprus' Ihor, Registration Date 14-04-2014 Organization The Natural History Museum of N.A.S. of Ukraine popup.description2 The objects of study of evolution and biodiversity chorology in Ukraine were the model groups of modern and fossil biota (early Devonian fish fauna, Pleistocene Holocene horses of Western Ukraine, gastropods Neogene of Volyn-Podillia, Alb-Senoman oysters of Volyn- Podillia, Miocene flora of the Western Ukraine, Ephemeroptera of late Mesozoic-early Cenozoic, aquatic insects of Central Europe, Nematoda, Oribatida, Protura, Collembola of Ukraine, as well as regional flora of vascular plants in the Carpathian region. The aim of study: 1) conducting of comparative evaluation of the geographical and stratigraphical distribution of model groups diversity of plants and animals, and 2) on the basis of studies to prepare the catalogue of fossil fauna and flora holotypes in the museum. We used methods of paleontological, soil zoological and floristic research. At this stage of research topic the comparative analysis of geographic and stratigraphic distribution of model groups of fauna and flora in past geological periods in western Ukraine was conducted; it was studied of parameters diversity of model groups of soil and aquatic fauna in gradients of environmental conditions and phylogenetic relationship of some invertebrate taxa; and has also been evaluated features of vascular plant chorology of Ukrainian Carpathians. Based on paleontological studies found that taxonomic diversity tafocomplexes of terrigenous sediments depends on factors phylogeny, ecological favourableness environment and facies conditions of sedimentation; two paleofloristic regions in the Miocene of Western Ukraine was allocated (the Volyn-Podillian and the Transcarpathian); identified three types of indigenous horses Pleistocene - Holocene Carpathians, including one new to science. The main results of zoological research: creation of classifications latitudinal and altitudinal areas of soil arthropods, creating new phylogenetic schemes of nematodes and Protura; description of the latitudinal distribution of soil fauna and the processes of postglacial forming of efemeropterofauna in Central Europe. As a result of botanical exploration, the geografical and biotopic distribution of rare flora component for Gorgan Mountains (Ukrainian Carpathians) was studied. The results of research were used to create a catalogue of fossil fauna and flora holotypes in the museum , electronic databases, museum collections of fauna and flora etalons, building of natural exhibitions, writing chronicles of nature reserves of Ukraine, and published in the form of scientific papers.
