The object of this study is the social relations that arise during and in connection with the activities of the Interior, which defines their role and place in the development of a democratic state. The aim - to define the role and place of the police in building a democratic state to develop and submit proposals for increasing contribution of the police in the case of building a democratic state. The aims and objectives of the study were implemented using integrated application of such techniques as the dialectical materialist method of scientific knowledge of social and legal phenomena based on it and the general scientific and special techniques. This method was used to analyze the relationships in the work of police, which defines their role and place in the development of a democratic state. The study used the general scientific methods of formal logic - to determine the structural elements of the ATS, defining their role and place in the development of a democratic state , statistical - to study the effectiveness of the internal affairs bodies on building a democratic state and others. The analysis of the regulations on the role and place of the police in building a democratic state used logical- legal and comparative legal methods. Scientific novelty of the study is to justify the concept of the role and place of the police in building a democratic state. Special attention was paid to the characterization of the main activities of the police , defining their role and place in the development of a democratic state to combating internal affairs authorities organized crime , illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, domestic violence prevention, ensuring the economic security of Ukraine, ensure the safety of participants in the criminal justice agencies of internal affairs. Results of research will help increase the contribution of police in the case of building a democratic state, ensuring personal security and protection of their rights and freedoms and lawful interests. The results of the study ( guidelines) implemented in practice Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the educational process in higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Interior and legislative activity .
