The purpose of the research is determination of technological capacities of the electrical current intensification of chemical transformations in heterogeneous multilayer foil conductors. The new way of intensification of chemical interaction of thin micron layers of heterogeneous metals Ti and Al is proposed: the electrical current passing through the laminar package during its reactive sintering. It is established that the growth rate of intermetallic layers is found by the total electrical energy supplied to the laminar conductor for the time of sintering, and the mechanism of heterogeneous chemical reaction acceleration is the Joule heat, the electrical migration, and the electroplastic effect. Conversion of the initial laminar package sintered without the current in a monolith having a structure of a metal-intermetallic composite took 7-8 hours, with use of a pulse current - 5 hours, and a direct current - no more than 3-4 hours. It is proved that the electrical current reactive sintering of laminar metal systems is the processes with several times less energy consumption compared with hot isostatic compaction. Metall-intermetallic laminar composites are suitable for manufacture of shock-proof coats and ballistic elements with total thickness no more than 1 mm due to a combination of a small specific weight and good crack resistance Product Description popup.authors Іванов А.В.
