The purpose of the study is the development of scientific bases of energy transformation during an underwater high-voltage electrochemical explosion in restricted volumes, development of computational algorithms for the parametres of the combined electrodischarge energy sources with use of the HVEE with respect to the needs of different certain discharge-pulse technologies. The results of the previous research of the influence of the components of the used exothermic mixes (EM) and parametres of the pulse current generator on energy, electrical and hydrodynamical characteristics of the HVEE are systematised and generalized allowing to determine the major factors affecting the specific efficiency of transformation of the EM potential chemical energy in the HVEE energy. It is shown that in the majority of discharge-pulse technologies (DPT) the HVEE is realized in restricted volumes, thus the water-filled 40-60% Al EM are basically used. The use of the HVEE allows to considerably increase the efficiency and performance of various DPTs at simultaneous decrease of weight and size parameters of the electroexplosives, to increase the lifetime of the capacitive stores and reliability of the high-voltage equipment. The test-bed is produced which provides the comparative research of the energy, electrical and hydrodynamical characteristics of the HVEE in an open and restricted volumes. The mathematical statement of the research problem of the processes of energy transformation in a restricted volume (the cylinder with nondeformable walls) is formulated.
