Information × Registration Number 0214U007215, 0113U001753 , R & D reports Title Development manufacture technology of corundumcontent plugs for the bottom blowing of metal in steel lagles and trial lots manufacture. popup.stage_title Head Zolotuhina L., Registration Date 29-05-2014 Organization Public joint stock company "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy" popup.description2 The research subject is corundum containing purging plugs for ground blowing of metal in the steel ladles.The purpose of the work is mastering of new product type - corundum containing purging plugs for ground blowing of metal in the steel ladles.The research methods are chemical, physic-mechanical and petrographic ones.Taking into attention the results of researches, which had been carried out (report about research work № 2.10-4-М-1.4-2012-ВН), the change № 2 to technological instruction ТI 24-IО-185-2010 with changes № 1 "Production of corundum, mullite, calcium hexaluminate and alumina zirconia silicate material fuse on block", as well as technological instruction ТI 24-IО-220-2013 "Production of central burnt bearing brass of purging plugs of corundum composition with calcium hexaluminate additive by vibrocasting method. Pilot batch" have been developed and approved.In PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the production technology of new product type (corundum with calcium hexaluminate additive purging plugs grade of "ПК") has been mastered. The properties of these plugs are following: content Al2O3 - 97.4 %, Fe2O3 - 0.22; СаО - 1.88; open porosity - 17.0 %; apparent density - 3.23 g/cm3; compression strength - 195 H/mm2.Corundum spinel grade of "ПКШ" (ТU U 23.2-00190503-349:2012) and developed corundum with calcium hexaluminate additive grade of "ПК" purging plugs have been produced and intended for comparison tests in the steel ladles.In PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the pilot batches of purging plugs for ground blowing in volume ~ 831 pieces for metallurgical plants of Ukraine have been produced. The properties of the indicated products are corresponding to technical documentation requirements (ТU U 23.2-00190503-3492012) for grade of "ПКШ".The work should be continued in the direction of further improvement of purging plugs production technology, as well as expanding of their manufacture and application volumes.
