Object of research is a stage and trends of foreign economic activities development at micro-, meso-and macroeconomic levels. Subject of research: development preconditions and factors that influence the economic and social environment, mechanisms of development of foreign economic activity in Ukraine. Objective: To develop both the methodological framework and the theoretical basements of functioning of mechanisms for the development of micro-, meso- and macrolevels of foreign economic activity in Ukraine, to study ways to improve the mechanisms for the sustainable development of foreign economic activity in Ukraine. Methods: systematic and structural analysis (for development of terminology and the conceptual apparatus), comparative analysis and synthesis (for the learning experience of foreign economic activity), statistical and economic analysis (to identify trends and patterns of foreign economic activity development), system analysis (for designing the system of foreign economic activities and making recommendations for improving the mechanisms of its regulation and management), abstract logical analysis (to summarize the results and draw conclusions). Results and novelty: it is established that at the present stage of development of the world economy forming an effective national economic system is largely dependent on the situation with its external relations, duration of their influence, economic security, etc.; it is determined that current stage of foreign economic activity is affected by a number of factors of different directions, modalities of micro-, meso- and macrolevels, mechanisms of state regulation, control and supervision; it is proposed and justified directions of an intensification of development of foreign economic activity on the micro-, macro-and mesolevels through the introduction of, accordingly, the mechanisms of development: at micro-level - strategic planning, establishing brands and concept of vocational training, at macro level - the concept of neoindustrialization of national economy, strategic forecasting and crisis management measures; mesolevel - forming regional export potential and development of human capital. Results of the research are implemented into the educational process and the practical activity of enterprises, public authorities and local bodies.
