The Subject: characteristics of ethno-social and ethno-political processes and the gender dimension of daily life in the South of Ukraine in the XIX - XX centuries. The aim: the comprehensive investigation of the historical origins of ethno-national and gender relations in the South of Ukraine in the XIX - XX centuries; indigenization policy and its impact on society, the history of women's daily life in Ukraine in the 1920s. Methods of the investigation: problem-chronological, statistical, comparative, method of historical reconstruction. Theoretical and practical results: Based on analysis of the latest scientific literature, proposals for correction and refinement of previous findings of scientists, the study of a number of new scientific issues that allow to approach the objective assessment of developments in the women's sphere of life during the Soviet times. It was proved that scientific works L.O.Smolyar were backed the history a lot of women's names and contributed to the establishment of a gender perspective in the humanitarian sphere, and its social and practical activity has involved a series of gender equality, dozens of new activists. Suggested a number of monitoring procedures and educational activities, the implementation of which will not only get rid of certain prejudices and stereotypes that exist among students, but also to get future teachers multicultural competence as the ability to prevent, if necessary, adjust the conflicts on ethnic or racial grounds in the school community . The Novelty: the first was defined the place of the creative heritage of Odessa historian L.O.Smolyar in the national historiography of women's movement in Ukraine; the results of the investigations of women's everyday Soviet times were summarized; the algorithm of multicultural education students of pedagogical universities was proposed.
