The research aim is to develop a hybrid algorithm for searching extremums of functions for solving a problem of an aerodynamic optimization of compressor rims of gas-turbine engines. The research methods are those of nonlinear programming and analytical geometry. The research results.A necessity of applying evolution methods of the definition of function extremes when solving problems of the aerodynamic optimization of vane channel forms of compressor rims for aircraft gas-turbine engines is validated. A hybrid algorithm for searching extremes of functions of multiple variables is developed. The method comprises a genetic algorithm and a simplex-method of the Nelder - Mead direct search combined on a parallel hybrid circuit, which passes progressively into a two-phase one. Based on multiple-parameter numerical studies, rational values of parameters of the hybrid algorithm for searching extremums of functions are chosen. These values of parameters result in reduction of calculations of a target function, needed for deriving its extremum. Applications: the design of compressors for aircraft gas-turbine engines.
