This study aims at detailed elaboration of the main provisions of national environmental policy strategy in the evaluation of the use of natural resources potential in mountainous areas of Ukraine on the basis of sustainable development, improvement of areas and mechanisms for sustainable environmental management in mountainous regions. Final products and main scientific research results is the development of guidelines and a comprehensive evaluation of the use of natural resources potential in mountainous areas of Ukraine on the basis of sustainable development, the preparation of the basis of proposals for sustainable environmental management in mountain regions and its implementation.
