For illumination of the road Kiev-Lugansk (section Kiev- Boryspol) design documentation necessary to determine the type of lighting devices, their capacity, spectral composition, types of curves of intensity, design features, weight was developed. Calculations of light and its uniformity on objects were made. Samples of road LED lights with parameters and characteristics, determined by the design and technical documentation were created. The installation of equipment, measurement of levels of illumination of the road (in the nighttime), in accordance with established procedures and the use of modern measuring techniques were carried out. Monitoring of the light environment and energy consumption of new types of lamps with comparison with existing ones was made. Keywords: LED, road LED lighting, light distribution, light efficiency
