Theoretical and numerical investigations were performed in order to select the optimal control mode for the motion of supercavitating vehicles. Integral-differential equation for the shape of the slender axisymmetric unsteady artificial cavity in a ponderable liquid was obtained with the use of the model of the one dimensional inviscid incompressible gas flow in the circular channel between the cavity surface and the vehicle hull.
