Operation of the setup is based on the modulation-polarimetric registration of linear dichroism of transmission or pleochroism of gate photo-emf that arise in uniaxially deformed heterostructures under the action of the orthogonal linearly polarized radiations, which illuminate their by turns. The hardware-software complex for selective registration and processing of polarimetric signals was designed and developed. The method of analysis of the spectral characteristics of dichroism (pleochroism), which is based on a comparison of the spectral dependences of the transmission (gate photo-emf) of linearly polarized radiations and their polarization difference, was developed. The value of the anisotropy parameter ?? was obtained from combination of integral and differential characteristics. The interrelations between the features of the spectral characteristics on the one hand and the band energy spectrum, the structural characteristics, the degree of doping, the optical properties of a particular LED on the other hand were determined.
